Now back to the history... I first realized I wanted more than a classical harp career when I met Deborah Henson-Conant at the age of 14 at a St. Louis Symphony concert and presented flowers to the larger-than-life artist. It was the same then as it is for many young harpists still today, Deborah called forth an inner-creativity in me that is still developing today. After many years giging and studying, I earned enough money to purchase my own electric harp. My dedication was so strong that I even hired my French professor to help translate a letter to the Camac Harp Company in France. The harp finally arrived in a very large and unmarked cardboard box at my college dorm room, much to my roommates’ dismay. A decade later, I’ve developed my own folk style that even I can’t categorize. I can be found at any open mic in Central New York almost every night of the week, except when I’m out actually getting paid to play. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the music! |
